And she wonders...
Why I might be a little bit upset when instead of feeling sick to her stomach then hustling her little ass to the bathroom to hurl, she chose to just lean over the side of the bed and puke on the floor.
Nothing like vomit first thing in the morning to set the tone for the day - and yes, I was neither kind nor gentle about it. I was pissed! She was not "asleep" - I had already been in to wake her for the day. And she informed me THEN that she wasn't feeling particularly well - to which I said, "Have a drink of water and see if you feel better after you are dressed..." I do not want to clean carpets because someone is to lazy to take their sorry ass to the toilet!! And then Sporta got all 'tude full with me when I informed her she would not be going to school. Give me a f-ing break.
Computa is openly hostile today because she is grounded from her internet access for a bit because as we WENT TO BED last night, she was attempting to finish her homework - homework she "forgot" she had to do when I asked the daily homework question. So *poof* no internet distraction for a while. She can just be mad - I don't care.
Oh, and then the doorbell rang at 7:30am - hooray! Cue the barking dogs!!! The neighbor kids were here to spend 20 minutes before catching the bus!! Whoo! Not that I didn't know they were coming, but dealing with the Chinese fire drill this morning did not make for a good environment to add in *extras*. Sheesh.
And WxMan? He stayed in bed through the ENTIRE ordeal. Perfect.
So?? How was your morning?

From the WTF?? Files...
And reason number 4,673 why I can never be a mother of toddlers again. Ever. Oh, the self medication I would need...
Can you believe that? Holy sh*t! Who comes up with weird stuff like this - Never thought I would consider Barney the lesser of two evils... Gah.
And speaking of sh*t - I wonder if the snacks are as happy headed out as they are headed in??? Hmmmmm.... (Yeah, I know. My brain goes weird directions sometimes...)

Black Friday
And the only thing I am buying today is this guy's CD.
And I am making my purchase from the comfort of my home - right here at the computer. Bonus!
WxMan works in a retail environment, so I am sure he will have a few stories to tell when he gets home here in a bit. He is working the 2 to 2 shift today, ready to serve those folks who camped out in line in the snow, to be the first to get... Well, in FIRST. That is seemingly the goal.
I don't get it. Never have... And just between you and me?? It's fricking COLD out!
So I have had my leftover turkey sandwich (now for breakfast!) and I am ready to start my day. A little decorating for Christmas, and finishing up my prep for tomorrow. We have discovered that WxMan's employees are much happier campers when fed, so I will be bringing in lunch. For 225.
Hmmmm.... I should probably get busy. Happy Friday!

Deep Fried Meat Candy
Found over at the home of the Neanderpundit... Heart healthy?? Well probably not... But who cares?? How could it be bad??
Innovation like this is what makes America great. Because freeking culinary geniuses come up with new things to deep fry - just for the hell of it! And then, don'tcha know people actually TRY (and buy!) the stuff!!
You know *I* would - good Lord.... Just once...
You 'spoze it goes with turkey?

Found in my email in-box just now...
My response?? Oh No - OH HELL NO! Have you seen those things poop? They shoot streams of doodie 4 feet!! Next thing you know they will want us to adopt elephant seals or something. They are just trying to trick me by getting me to adopt something cute first... Screw the Goricle's latest campaign - I'll stick to adopting dogs. Yeesh!

Whoa...
Well this is something to think about...
Shift Happens
It got my attention, anyway. Nothing like a little perspective, Eh?
I wonder why I have the sudden urge to buy a surfboard and more weapons... Huh.

Survived...
The WHOLE weekend.
The "Spiritual Gifts" Workshop that took All.Day.Saturday. Gah... Shockingly enough (not) I have already figured out what my "gifts" are and use them regularly. Go figure... So there's 9 hours of my life that I will never get back. Oh well...
And yesterday I survived the Mother of all Migraines - good Lord people. I don't get a really bad one very often and I don't know how all y'all who suffer from these big nasty suckers on a regular basis do it... If I did get them more often then every few years or so I would definitely have an arsenal of prescription meds to turn to. A BIG arsenal.
So once I fell into bed last night at 11pm, wiped out and in definite need of rest and a hatchet removed from my head leave it to my subconscious to remind me that hey - things could always be worse... I dreamed that I fell down the stairs and broke both arms. Niiiiiice. Nothing like a little bit of perspective, Eh?
I'll go with a headache any day.
So today I am playing a bit of catch up - my head is much better and I need to make up for my lack of productiveness yesterday. Anybody else shocked to discover that Thanksgiving is Thursday?? Holy cow - how did that happen??
Nothing like hitting the ground running - now I just need to try not to fall down.

Alrighty then...
First off - Whoohoo!! It's Friday! And it's payday - even better!! (Yes, I *am* looking for even the smallest things to celebrate - what of it?)
And celebrate I shall. How you ask??
By cleaning out the garage!!! Whoo!
...
What? Why are you looking at me that way?? This could be really, really fun! I am telling you!!
Convinced yet? Yeah - well, me either. But I should get some points for trying, right? And I have to say - in the dark recesses of my mind last night I formulated quite the action plan.
You heard me - I dreamed about cleaning out and reorganizing the garage all.night.long. **sigh** It's better than dreaming about being repeatedly hunted and killed by psychopaths (another recurring theme with me) but still. The garage?? Good grief!
At least I got some good ideas out of the deal. Really I did! (Apparently I am brilliant at 3am while unconscious. Who knew?!?!) And WxMan, that lucky guy, is here to help me! Yay! So we'll see how it all works out...
Other things to celebrate today include the fact that Oklahoma turns 100 years old today! Whoohoo!
And since I am married to an Okie I suppose we should do SOMETHING to commemorate the occasion. Drink a Coors Light maybe?? Deep fry something?? Race a covered wagon down the street? [Clean out the garage? -Ed.] Yeah - I am sure we can find something in that list that won't further alienate the neighbors... Like I give a crap. A little Sooner Schooner action would probably be good for them....
You have no idea how often I hear that fight song in this house. Seriously....
Okay, I am off. Happy Friday, y'all. And be on the lookout for runaway schooners today. Just sayin'...

Back to the Salt Mines...
Well, such at they are. Life is pretty good around here...
Yesterday I did *exactly* what I wanted to do. And that was nice. Lots of fun phone calls and well wishes. More than a few fantabulous gifts. [You guys ROCK!] I am blessed with wonderful family and friends. And WxMan remembered this year - whoohoo! Bonus!
Today though, it's back to work. I have a lot of projects that need to be finished - hell, some that needed to be started! And the holidays are fast approaching - not that I have to tell you. You'd have to be living under a rock not to have noticed the retail madness has already begun.
So it's a Wednesday that feels like Monday all over again - and I am yet a bit older. That's all good considering the alternative, dont'cha think??
Yeah - me too.

Oh fer F@#%'s sake...
Some days - it seems so much easier to just throw up your hands with your kids and say:
Crap. It's just homework. Re-copy the sonofabitch and be DONE already. There's another hourshe'll I'll never get back. Why they have to be so stubborn sometimes escapes me.... If you are keeping score - She has 27 more minutes to get it done. We'll see....
ARGH!!
"Fine - do whatever the f*ck you want!! I give up!!!"Than it is to stick to your guns and do the RIGHT thing.
Crap. It's just homework. Re-copy the sonofabitch and be DONE already. There's another hour
ARGH!!
Supporting the troops...
Is something I *always* try to do. I made my phone calls yesterday to say Happy Veterans' Day to a few vets I am lucky to know. It's not a difficult thing to do. And one friend of mine mentioned that he appreciates the call a lot - every year. That's good, because I appreciate his service! And it's always good to know that we *will* catch up and see how things are, if only once a year.
Today over at Blonde Sagacity I discovered this guy - Sgt. Freedom. Holy cow - talk about troop support!! (May not be work safe - he used a bit of language. Rightfully so, but your boss might not appreciate it. Just sayin'....)
Concerning Protesters
I have been working my way through this guy's video campaign. So far I have really enjoyed:
Everybody Blames Bush rant
musings on the Hollywood Left
God Flags and Freedom
His rant on the UK Terrorist Attack
Gun Control
My favorite so far - Hammer Hits the Nail
There's a lot of good stuff.
Yesterday was Veterans' Day - today Veterans' Day is "observed." Whatever. I never understood how giving federal employees the day off honored our veterans in any way. Now if we gave every VETERAN a day off?? That might work...
When it comes to honoring our service men and women, I think every day should be "veterans day" - but that's just me.

There she goes again...
Off to build a fort with her buddies. She came home to a) check in (finally - the message has sunk in!) b) get a sweatshirt (again - good girl!) and c) get some supplies - nails, tape and juice pouches.
Maybe being a kid in the 21st century isn't so bad. I told her she had to be home by dark - sound familiar??
Too early??
I have the urge to start some holiday candy making... I think it may be too early. Or quite possibly I am just putting off cleaning out my closet...
Doesn't toffee sound like more fun? Hmmmm??
Doesn't toffee sound like more fun? Hmmmm??
Really??
What Is Your Biggest Weakness?
You are the self-sacrificing. Your biggest weakness is you would rather sacrifice everything than see someone sad. You'd give anything you could to see someone smile, even if it's a stranger. A little giving spirit is a good thing, but too much can wear you down. Make sure you get what you need, too, and don't give too much of your life away to other people. They'll be fine without you watching over them every minute.

Finally!
A reason to buy Mountain Dew...
You know that we are soooooooo going to do this one day soon. Oh yeah. That's just too cool.
Update: Dang it! I am just waaaaay too gullible. Zonker was kind enough to point out that this TOO has been labeled a hoax. Note to self- use freeking snopes or whatever. This is getting embarrassing. Ugh.

Case of the Blues Blahs...
And I cannot for the life of me pinpoint why - it just is.
We are busy, but not excruciatingly so. Nothing all that interesting is going on. I mean really, do you want to hear about me organizing the "Harvest Party" for Computa's class?? *I* don't even want to hear about it - and I am the room mom!
Or the potluck luncheon I am somehow organizing for church on Sunday?? Yeah. Boooooooooring....
Gah...
Nothing new with the house either. You finally get to a point after moving when you can "tolerate" everything and you just don't want to f*ck it all up by opening another box. Just leave things be - they are FINE. I will admit I *am* looking forward to decorating for Christmas though...
My new chairs came in - yes that is different fabric than the neato geometric I picked out. The factory sat on the order and ran out of my fabric - darn them. But these look nice and they are super comfy - so that's all good.
Otherwise I have a backsplash that I need to create in the laundry room (whoo!) and a couple of tables still to refurbish so they can take their rightful place in the Man room. And... Uh...
See what I mean?? Booooooring. Maybe boring's not so bad though - excitement can be overrated.
Alrighty - I am off to match socks and put together something yummy for the party tomorrow. Best to keep this thrill ride rolling...

Dang...
I need to get the rest of this leftover Halloween candy out of the house. The Mini snickers and little packages of Peanut M&M's are WAAAAAAY too tempting.
Just sayin'...
Just sayin'...
Benign.
One of my all time favorite words, that...
Not that it's a fancy word. Nor does it roll off the tongue with panache and style. But it's a good word none the less.
Thanks for all of your kind thoughts, y'all. Today is a very good day.

Mac vs. PC
The battle continues...
My good buddy AkshunJ posted this - heh. Dorks can rap - who knew! It cracked me up on many levels. I think I hang out well with those guys!
I should get a green dress... But not a real green dress - that's cruel.
I am easily entertained tonight, obviously.

Temps today falling through the 40's into the 30's. And they are calling for flurries.
I think I'll make soup.
I may even have to turn on the furnace... This is it kids, Old Man Winter is ready to play.
Brrrrrrr....
I'll post the soup recipe after bit - everybody likes French Onion!

For the heck of it...
And because it gave we a well needed giggle today, check out this video. (Real? I dunno....) I am not sure in which country it's set either - but apparently having a sense of humor is optional.
Heh. Something tells me that this could happen in Texas too - but the dude would have at least been given the opportunity to surrender first.
Color me a sicko - I thought it was funny. ; )

Wicked Weekend...
And Halloween is over, even! But this is what greeted me upon my arrival home from a meeting last night...
My FIRST thought? "Holy crap - where in the world has WxMan been shopping and why on earth would he just leave something like that on the kitchen counter?!?!?!"
Upon opening the box, however, I discovered the contents...
The Realtor that helped us sell and buy our house dropped it by. Heh. Not only does she have a wicked sense of humor - she knows her clients so well...
I sense a tasting in the not too distant future...

No news is Good news...
Especially when you are waiting on a pathology report. Because No News = No Alarm. And that's good...
Bad news is when you get the call that you need to meet with your doctor earlier than you had expected - and I haven't gotten that call. So... Good news!
Or I might just be digging in an enormous manure pile looking for a pony... Wouldn't be the first time.
That's what I get for being an optimist, I guess.
