...wins the Kentucky Derby. And it was a fantastic run...

But, Eight Belles - the only filly in the field - took second. And because of injuries sustained, had to be put down on the track. Knowing such a majestic animal had to be euthanized makes me sad...

Damn. I believe that all Horses go to heaven, just like dogs do - but it was sad none the less. God speed Eight Belles... May your pastures be vast and green. And as majestic as you were... :(
